Winter Intern Roll Call

We are currently seeking up to three talented interns who are focused on graphic design, web development or copywriting. You will hit the ground running on day one, collaborating with multiple team members and executing work for a variety of clients. The work is diverse and we know you’ll learn a ton!

 

A couple things of importance:

  • Start in January 2016 (official start date will depend on your schedule)
  • Program will run for 10 weeks, with potential to extend
  • We’ll help with your beer fund by paying you $10 an hour
  • Expect to be in our office, in historic Printer’s Row, at least 30 hours per week. If you are taking spring semester classes on top of that – great – we can try and work around your schedule; however, we would prefer candidates available to work closer to full-time hours.

General qualifications:

  • Must be a current student or recent graduate
  • Work well in team-oriented culture
  • Enjoy extra-curricular, team-building activities (aka going out for drinks with your coworkers after hours, participating in an 88 bowling league, etc.)
  • Having your own laptop would be fantastic, but not required

GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Required Qualifications

  • Pursuing or recently obtaining a degree in Visual Communication, Graphic Design, Communication Design, Advertising Art Direction or other related degree
  • Strong technical knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Possess articulate presentation skills and an extreme attention to detail
  • Passion for impactful print, digital and interactive experiences
  • A strong interest in marketing and advertising principles
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to effectively juggle multiple tasks
  • Portfolio showcasing your design work

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with the senior team members to design client solutions that meet requirements outlined in creative briefs
  • Assist with creating/organizing appropriate assignments for creative staff – this includes making edits to documents, preparing comps, mood boards and client presentations, among other responsibilities
  • Handling various team-related administrative tasks
  • Staying on top of latest industry trends and news and keep team informed

 

 

WEB DEVELOPER

Required Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree (or recently obtained one) in Computer Science, Digital Media or other related degree
  • Experience with front end languages (PHP, JavaScript)
  • Experience with CSS3 and HTML5
  • Interest in object-oriented programming with an understanding of design principles
  • Experience in Content Management Systems (WordPress)
  • Knowledge of Google Apps for Business
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Excellent teamwork skills and ability to assist other team members in problem-solving
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to be highly flexible to quickly changing business needs and new technologies

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to follow existing programming and style guidelines to maintain consistent website look and feel and consistent quality of code
  • Experience in Flash & Actionscript 2.0
  • Ability to create working sitemaps and wireframes
  • Maintains documentation, procedures and working instructions for the development team
  • Shows initiative in constantly reassessing internal business needs and makes suggestions that meet those needs proactively
  • Develops new site functionality or code-base to decrease maintenance time and increase productivity

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the execution of web development production
  • Make edits to existing projects, aiding in development, debugging and deployment
  • Collaborate with Senior Developer who will guide your work
  • Learn about the responsibilities and requirements of a development team

 

 

COPYWRITER

Required Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree (or recently obtained one) in Copywriting, Advertising, English, Creative Writing or other related degree
  • Experience creating conceptual work for a variety of goods and services
  • A portfolio showcasing conceptual work in a variety of mediums (digital, social, print, integrated, guerilla, etc)
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Naturally collaborative and able to think conceptually
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and multitask
  • Enthusiastic about working on any project, big or small
  • Curious about emerging trends
  • Experience in social media a plus

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assisting the creative department with writing creative copy for a variety of client projects, including digital, print and video
  • Collaborating with senior writer and ACD who will guide your work
  • Learning about the day-to-day responsibilities of a copywriter
  • Staying on top of the latest industry trends and news
  • Bragging to your friends about how awesome your internship is
  • Socializing with your coworkers at the local watering holes
  • Having a blast
